OAC opens with 28 students admitted.

The one-year diploma program is expanded to two years.
1887
The degree program is launched.
1891
Initiation of short courses for the general public.
1901
A fourth year is added to the curriculum for degree.
1920
High school matriculation required for admission qualification to the degree program.
1926
Graduate programs initiated.
1928
First Master of Science in Agriculture (MSA) degrees granted.
1948
Senior high school matriculation (Grade 13) required for admission qualification to the degree program.
1964
OAC is a founding college of the newly created University of Guelph. New degrees are created.
1988
OAC introduced Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Environmental Science majors.
1995
New “Experience Agriculture” curriculum for B.Sc. (Agr.) program is introduced.
1997
The former Colleges of Agricultural Technology at Le Collège d’Alfred, Kemptville and Ridgetown join OAC and the University of Guelph. The Electronic MBA in Agriculture is introduced in conjunction with Athabasca university.
1999
OAC celebrates its 125th anniversary.
2002
Maclean’s magazine names the University of Guelph as Ontario’s highest ranked comprehensive university. OAC is internationally renowned for its excellence in agricultural education and research and acclaimed for fostering a student centered environment and sense of community.
